Victoria Mogilevskaya

Hello! My name is Victoria Mogilevskaya, and I am a math and science tutor at Flying Minds Education Centre. I work with students of various ages, mainly in middle school and high school, helping them achieve their academic goals. Some students are aiming for a high 90s average to get into a very competitive university program, while others are working toward successfully passing a course.
 

Some students understand the subjects very well and do great on assignments, but their performance on tests does not always reflect their actual knowledge. Others struggle to fully understand concepts because the standard teaching methods at school do not work well with their learning style. My teaching approach is focused on empowering students and helping them feel confident in their learning abilities by developing individually tailored problem-solving strategies and unique study techniques.
 

I believe in helping students fully understand the scientific and mathematical concepts they are learning, rather than simply memorizing rules. I always aim to reduce the stress associated with studying math and science by explaining concepts in an approachable and clear way. I enjoy helping students feel engaged in their learning and excited to explore topics beyond the regular school curriculum.
 

I also emphasize the importance of learning from mistakes and not feeling discouraged by them. My goal is to help students develop self-confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that are extremely useful in further education as well as in everyday life.
 

I also teach ABACUS to students of all school ages. I teach children how to use an abacus to perform addition and subtraction with single-digit, double-digit, and triple-digit numbers, as well as how to perform these calculations mentally. In my abacus classes, I focus on helping students improve their fine motor skills and their ability to visualize the calculations they are performing. These skills help prepare students for learning and understanding more advanced math and science concepts in the future.
