Give your child the tools to become a future maker! In this exciting 12-week course, kids ages 10 and up will explore the world of 3D printing and digital design — from their very first shape in Tinkercad to more advanced modeling in Blender. They'll learn how to turn ideas into real objects, troubleshoot and improve designs, and complete a custom project they can take home and proudly share.
Weekly Overview:
Weeks 1–2: Introduction to 3D Printing
Learn how 3D printers work (FDM & SLA), explore real-world uses, and understand the basic components and safety rules of a 3D printer.
Weeks 3–5: CAD Design in Tinkercad
Dive into beginner-friendly 3D design. Learn to place, resize, group, and align shapes. Create functional items like name tags and mini figures.
Weeks 6–7: Slicing & Printing Basics
Prepare designs for printing using slicer software (Bambu Studio or Cura). Adjust settings like infill, supports, and print speed. Supervise real prints and learn how to monitor print quality.
Week 8: Troubleshooting & Iteration
Discover what causes failed prints (warping, stringing, etc.) and how to fix them. Learn how iteration improves both function and appearance.
Weeks 9–10: Intermediate Design with Blender
Step up to professional-grade design using Blender. Learn how to sculpt, extrude, and manipulate complex models. Great for making toys, characters, or decorative items.
Week 11: Final Project Build & Prep
Plan, model, and slice your final creation — a fully custom object designed entirely by the student.
Week 12: Showcase & Celebration
Present your project, explain your process, and celebrate your progress with classmates and family. Certificates and group photos included!
