Chess for Professional Development
Get inside of the minds of professional chess players with national arbiter Bijan D. Shafa. There are many strategic lessons we can apply to real life situations once we understand them on a chess board.
For example one might struggle solving one problem and use a lot of energy and recourses only to notice later, that the proposed fix just creates new difficulties. In these situations foresight and careful calculation is needed as well as building thinking systems that help future situations. In this program you will learn how to apply and evolve these systems for yourself and your team.
More benefits include: Time management, performance under pressure, assigning tasks correctly, prioritization skills and general mind & body health practices.
Upon request we can include guest speakers like Women Masters, Grand/International Masters and kid & teen tournament players.

Experience together with Coach Bijan a variety of possibilities with chess, spanning from playing games casually or in a tournament style with fun prizes to challenging teamwork puzzles that will get your gears turning. With years of teaching experience, we can adjust the programme to your specific level and taste.
For beginner and casual players, we try to involve games that teach new concepts and are fun and easy to implement. For example, when teaching about pawn structures, we play with fewer pieces than usual or try Setup-Chess to get used to the value of the pieces.
For more experienced teams, we offer more competitive options as well as puzzles that require more creativity to solve, both solo and as a team.
In a mixed group scenario we offer team challenges that pair up experienced players with more casual players, as well as puzzles and problems tailored to each person.
