A Proud Moment for the Flying Minds Family

We are thrilled to share that over the past two years, our Flying Minds teams have competed in the APEGA Science Olympics — and delivered outstanding results.
Students from Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 represented our centre, bringing home both gold and silver medals across these competitions.
This is not just a competition result. It is proof that when children are given the right environment to explore, build, and think creatively, they rise to remarkable heights.
We are incredibly proud of every student who stepped up to the challenge, and deeply grateful to our instructors and the parents who supported them every step of the way.
What Is the APEGA Science Olympics?
The APEGA Science Olympics is one of Alberta’s most exciting STEM competitions for young students. Teams tackle real engineering and science challenges — from building structures that must withstand pressure, to designing circuits, to solving mechanics puzzles under time constraints.
It requires not just textbook knowledge, but also the ability to apply science creatively, work as a team, and think on your feet.
These are exactly the skills that matter in the real world — and the skills we nurture every day at Flying Minds.
How We Conduct Science Classes for Kids at Flying Minds

Science classes for kids at Flying Minds looks very different from a traditional classroom. Our Science Lab program brings biology, chemistry, and physics to life through real hands-on experiments. Students are not just reading about reactions — they are creating them.
They observe, measure, record, and draw conclusions, building the habits of true scientific thinkers from an early age.
Our Electronics and Robotics programs take science a step further into engineering and design. Students learn to wire circuits, program microcontrollers, and build working machines — experiencing firsthand how the principles they learn in science class become real, functional inventions.
Our 3D Printing and Design classes add another layer, introducing students to the full creative process, from an idea on paper to a physical object in their hands.
Each of these programs is designed not just to teach content, but to develop the kind of flexible, curious, problem-solving mind that innovation demands.
Science Summer Camp — Exploration All Summer Long
Learning does not stop when the school year ends. Our Science Summer Camp gives students the chance to dive deep into experiments, engineering challenges, and creative STEM projects in a fun, relaxed camp environment.
It is one of the most popular programs we offer, and for good reason. Campers get to explore topics they might never encounter in school, work in teams, and come away with both new knowledge and a genuine love for discovery.
Whether your child is a budding chemist, an aspiring engineer, or simply someone who loves finding out how things work, our science camps are designed to keep that curiosity alive all summer long.
